Nature Culture is an emerging philosophy that combines activities such as conservation, green action, health, local food movement, music, science and more into a new culture that reconnects to our ancient natural heritage. This program takes you on a journey of exploration into the world of nature on Cortes Island where you will explore nature on a personal level, learn about the natural history of the Salish Sea from one of Canada’s leading naturalists and science communicators, and participate in seminars on how to build a culture rooted in nature. You will rise early to hear the Dawn Chorus of bird song, explore the seashore, spend time in the forest witnessing nature in a new way, and learn the art of quick illustration to capture moments. You will emerge to see the world in a new way.
